My late father took many wonderful Bay Area photos, that he developed himself. Some that he developed were taken by my grandfather, years before!
This photo is of a San Francisco harbor. My parents had a sailboat for many years, so it seems likely that their own boat was nearby, though it does not seem to be in this picture.
I believe that this photo was taken down along the Piers, south of the Fisherman's Wharf, Pier 39 area, in San Francisco. It looks like the area near the bottom of Market Street, if you examine the structures in the background.
It is likely that I also have the negative, though it would take some work to find it.
